Nancy was born in East London, South Africa and studied at Rhodes University where she obtained a B.A. degree in English and Fine Art. She spent fourteen years living and teaching in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaya and England. On returning to South Africa, she and her husband, Roly, who is a doctor, lived in Johannesburg until 1998. Nancy has always been attracted to beautiful surroundings and was therefore naturally drawn to Clarens where she and Roly decided to retire. In Clarens, she has been able to indulge her passion for landscape painting. Nancy specializes in painting local landscapes. She has two children, a son Bruce Fordyce who is a famous runner and a daughter, Oonagh who lives in London.
